A One-Woman Play About the Co-Founder of Unity

Healed! The Story of Myrtle Fillmore (Formerly Tea with Myrtle) is coming to First Unity. The program runs about an hour and focuses on Myrtle's early life through and shortly after her healing experience. The play traces the highs and lows of Myrtle's life, often moving the audience to both laughter and tears. At the churches and centers where it has been performed, audiences have shown a renewed interest in Myrtle's life and message. Our professional actress, Angel Stokey, not only plays the part of Myrtle but embodies her spirit as well. This program is a must for anyone interested in the spiritual DNA of the Unity Movement.

Have you ever wondered how Unity began? Who were our founders and how did they come to create what we now know as the Unity Movement? Join us for 4 weeks of discovery, reflection and realization as we take a closer look at the life of Myrtle Fillmore known as "the Mother of Unity." What was she like? What were her dreams? How did she find her unshakeable faith in the midst of a harsh medical diagnosis? We will be gathering for "Soup & Soul" with a light meal from 6 - 6:30, with "class" from 6:30 – 9 pm. Explore our spiritual roots with us as we join our hearts with Myrtle coming to know and understand her like never before. Daybree Thoms is a Licensed Unity Teacher candidate. She formerly coordinated our Prayer Chaplain Program, has served on the Board of Trustees and serves as platform assistant with Rev. Temple and Rev. Russell.
