Youth Education Introduction

“Our Mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be 'called out' is to follow the harmonious law of the soul's enfoldment.” -- Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity

Program overview

We provide childcare at the 9 & 11 am Sunday services for all ages.

Basic Unity principles for children:
1. God is everywhere equally present and All Good.
2. The presence of God dwells within each person.
3. Human beings create their experience by the activity of their thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
4. Prayer & meditation are the direct link with the Mind/Heart of God.
5. Knowing the laws of Truth is not enough. A person must live the Truth he/she knows.
What is the basic class structure?

We use a team-teaching model, which means that at least two adults are in each class at all times. Having two teachers, or spiritual leaders as they are called sometimes, allows teachers to meet the needs of the group, which may include leading a discussion, helping with crafts, or taking some one-on-one time with a truth student. Depending on the age and maturity of the students, the class structure may include a lesson, prayer, meditation, discussion, heart sharing, and a creative expression, which involves crafts, drama, singing, and movement.

Our Teachers, Spiritual Leaders & Sponsors:

We have a team of committed adults who choose to serve in our Youth & Family ministry, most on an every-other-week basis. We also have a long list of substitutes who are willing to step in if their schedule permits.

Where are we located?

Our Sunday School classrooms are in three main areas:

   1. Between the Sanctuary and Friendship Hall in our main building
   2. Above Friendship Hall.
   3. In The Learning Center just east of our main building.

 Prosperity Blessing

This is the blessing we use during the offering time in our classes: Divine Love, through me, blesses and multiplies all that I have, all that I give, and all that I receive.
