Want a quick and easy journey into the heart and soul of First Unity Church and the teachings of  the Unity movement? Attend one of our complimentary classes and get acquainted with us. We’d love to get to know you, too!

Learn more about Unity principles and First Unity of St Petersburg at Discover Unity. Make friends that can last a lifetime in this three-part membership class in Friendship Hall. This class is required for those who want to join the church. Everyone is welcome, member or non-member are invited to come to review and renew what our teaching is all about. There is no cost for this class.

Childcare will be provided for a suggested love offering of $5 per child/$10 per family. Please make reservations for childcare at least one week in advance by calling 527-2222 x107.

You've seen and heard Jeff play here at Unity Campus and perhaps said to yourself... I'd like to play like that someday. Well, you're in luck, Jeff is providing private ½ hour lessons to children at least 4 years old and adults of any age. Lessons will be given on the campus of First Unity.

Jeff is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University in Music Education and piano was his major. He has performed on Broadway as piano – conductor for musicals and cabarets. He has extensive training and experience as a professional accompanist for many of the top opera singers.

Jeff has taught all ages for the last 25 years, you're guaranteed to learn and have lot’s of fun. Now's the time, call or email today!

 
QiGong Levels I and II

Tuesdays, July 6 – August 31  | 6 to 7 pm
Location: Rm #200, above Friendship Hall

QiGong is an ancient Chinese form of moving meditation, similar to Tai Chi, but easier to learn.  QiGong uses specialized movements and deep diaphragmatic breathing to cultivate chi (energy)! * Proven technique for increasing your energy, reducing stress, and improving overall health, your Body/Mind Connection, Improve your balance and endurance and it is especially effective for improving the functioning of your Lower Digestive Tract, thus cleaning out toxins!

Each class begins with 15 minutes of stretching and a short meditation to prepare your body.  Then we start with Empty Force QIGONG, which “develops energy” in all the major organ centers of your body. This energy is VERY TANGIBLE and will leave you feeling clear and empowered. Afterwards… you’ll learn Cloud Hands for the lungs, Earth Hands for the reproductive system, Around the World for the Heart and digestive system, and Push Hands for increasing your ability to “project Qi” outside to others. $10 per class.

 
Food-Life Synergy – “Catching On To It”

Wednesdays, July 7 – August 4 (5 weeks) | 7 to 9 pm
Location: Rm #301, in The Learning Center

Food/Life Synergy is an introductory workshop into plant-based cuisine, raw/living food preparation and a whole body approach to wellness. The cornerstone of the program is a balance between diet, detox and water intake, exercise, sleep, mindfulness and social structure.

FLS makes it easy to improve your health and enjoy your life. Each workshop provides a fun and engaging atmosphere, step-by-step meal preparation, tips for improving all sectors of life and instructions for success. Juicing, new foods, new techniques, sprouting & germination, blending & dehydrating, easy vegan/raw meals prepared and enjoyed. $20 per class.

Virginia Grabowski is a private wellness coach and with over 10 years of hands on experience, she has mastered the art of plant based food preparation. Her approach is a blend of expertise gathered from her professional fields of sustainability consulting, interior design and physical fitness, with her knowledge of universal elements, yoga, meditation and Buddhist study.

ChildcareFirst Unity recognizes the value in providing childcare during classes, events and programs at the church. To do so in a way that supports our commitment to wise stewardship of our shared resources, it is important that everyone understand our childcare practices.

Reservations for childcare ($5/child, $10/per family) must be made seven working days prior to the class/event by contacting Dianna Collins at 527-2222 x107.To provide childcare, there must be reservations for a minimum of four children.
