Uniteens, the sixth through eighth graders ages 11 to 14, have leaders instead of teachers. They are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings, such as sharing high and low points of the previous week.
There are two weekend retreats for Uniteens annually. All active Uniteens in the Southeast region are invited to attend this weekend bonding adventure with other area teens. To attend, the teens must complete paperwork, which includes a heart agreement; provide service hours; and participate in a fundraiser to help cover the cost of the retreat. Uniteens may satisfy the requirement for service by participating in a community event, such as an annual coastal cleanup, or by visiting a retirement center or helping at a shelter, for example. Weekend sleepovers, referred to as “lock-ins,” may be planned at our church or at a local church with a goal of connecting for fun and spiritual growth.
